To ensure that we are actively creating opportunities for youth from equity-priority groups (including but not limited to Indigenous youth, Black youth, racialized youth, trans and gender-diverse youth, and youth who are differently-abled) a portion of the spots and scholarships will be set aside to support their enrolment.

What is the GreenUP Girl's Climate Leadership Program?

When women and girls are empowered, we support a better life for all. This program offers girl-identified youth (aged 10-13) the chance to build the skills and confidence needed to become climate leaders!

Led by incredible woman-identified or non-binary leaders at the forefront of the local climate movement, this leadership program will include a focus on:

  • Cycling Skills, in partnership with B!KE and Active School Travel Ptbo (Please note: this program depends upon using bikes to cycle to locations in Peterborough. Participants need to be able to bike. If your child requires some equipment, please email karen.okrafka@greenup.on.ca)
  • Green Building, in partnership with the Endeavour Centre
  • Food Security, in partnership with Nourish
  • Climate Adaptation, in partnership with Ecology Park
  • Water Protection, in partnership with the Sacred Water Circle

This unique opportunity is made possible with support from 100 Women Peterborough.
