Blower door testing for new construction

Conducting a renovation or a new build? Creating an airtight building envelope will lead to long-lasting energy efficiency.

One of our Registered Energy Advisors will visit your property, measure your building's volume, and conduct a blower door test to determine your building's airtightness. The energy advisor will accompany you on a tour of the property to identify areas of air leakage and provide suggestions for sealing them. 

For accurate results, the air barrier of the building should be complete. 

We are only able to test connected space with a footprint of less than 6000 square feet. Buildings with large volume may require additional equipment, and will be charged an additional fee.  If you have a larger building, please contact the Home Energy Program manager at clara.blakelock@greenup.on.ca to discuss your options. 

You will be provided with a brief summary report which includes your building's current Air Change per Hour at 50 Pascals (ACH50) and your Equivalent Leakage Area, as well as a list of air leakage locations.
