Home Energy Pre-Retrofit Assessments

An EnerGuide home energy assessment is an evaluation of the efficiency of your building. A home energy assessment helps you identify areas where you could improve energy efficiency — for example, by sealing air leaks or adding insulation. Your assessment report will identify a range of improvements you can make to increase your comfort, health, and energy savings!

You will be asked to select a date and time, answer a series of questions (scroll all the way down), and provide payment at the time of booking. If you do not receive a confirmation email from The GreenUP Store, your appointment has not been booked. Contact the Home Energy Help Desk at 705-536-9943 if you are having difficulties

An EnerGuide assessment is the first step in applying for incentive programs such as the Home Efficiency Rebate Plus program.

Benefits of a home energy assessment include:

  • Better understanding of your home's energy performance
  • Customized advice from your Registered Energy Advisor
  • Access to up to $10,000 in grants to help retrofit your home
  • Access to up to $40,000 in interest free loans to support deeper retrofits

When applying for incentive programs, your Energy Advisor will perform two assessments: pre-retrofit and post-retrofit. The pre-retrofit assessment must be performed before renovations or upgrades have begun. Post-retrofit assessments are booked directly through your Energy Advisor.

Ensure that you book the correct type of assessment that aligns with your postal code

Please read through the pre-assessment information letter to be sure your home is eligible before booking.
